Living the Path: Reflections on honesty

Hi!

It’s Elizabeth Young here.

In Pathwork Guide Lecture #151: Intensity: An Obstacle to Self-Realization, the Guide states that “in order to be compatible with the universal power, it is necessary that the personality is in inner and outer relaxation…without obstructions.” How wonderful does that sound? Yet, in the world I live in today, I find this increasingly more difficult. I meditate. I pray. I practice conscious breathing. I eat healthy. Yet I often feel like I’m on the edge, worrying about what is around the corner. I often blame others, the world. According to the Pathwork Guide, these feelings obstruct my ability to access my true power because my “habitual state is one of taut intensity which is foreign to and incompatible with this universal power.”

As the Guide teaches, when we are dishonest with ourselves or others, a certain feeling of tenseness or tautness appears within us, but when we are honest on every level of our being, even though it may feel a bit uncomfortable at first, we end up feeling more relaxed within. The Guide then suggests that when we feel relaxed, we are more aligned and able to access true power, along with emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health. This begins with awareness.

So what is honesty? Can you feel inside your body when someone is honest (or dishonest) with you? For that matter, how honest are you with yourself? With others?

In this lecture, the Guide encourages each of us to explore three levels of honesty: emotional, mental, and physical because being honest is one of the keys to gain access to the source of true power, the cosmic force, that exists within you and all around you.

Join one of our lecture discussions to discover how to be more aware of how you create an intensity within your mind, body and soul so that you can then choose to create a deeper sense of relaxation and become more aligned with your true power, living a life “attuned to the cosmic force.”
